Contact any PTO Officers with any questions. PTO General Member meetings happen in late August/early September, November and April of each academic year. Dates will be announced and added to the Academic Calendar.
Melanie is in her fourth year as a member of the Orion community. Her son Thomas is currently a junior. She was a parent sponsor for Orion’s student council, a co-chair of the Orion speaker series and a co-chair for Orion’s PTO Fall Picnic/Auction. In her life before motherhood, she worked for 20 years as a litigation assistant and supervisor for a Bay Area labor law firm. Over the years, she has volunteered time with her church, a local food pantry, an equine therapy facility, juvenile hall and as a rape crisis hotline counselor and victim’s advocate. She resides in Walnut Creek with her husband, Randy, and their sons, James and Thomas.
Laura is in her fourth year as a member of the Orion community and currently has an 11th grade son, Cole Beaty. She Co-Chaired the Orion Fall Fiesta and Auction for the past two years and has sat on the PTO Board as Member-at-Large for the past two years. She will also be co-chairing the Graduation Committee again this year. She lives in Moraga with her husband Tom, and three kids, Cole, Kate and Jack.
Sandy is entering her third year as a member of the Orion community. Her son, P.J. Gibbs, is currently an 11th Grader. She served in 2014-2015 as Orion PTO’s Vice President, hosted the Fall Fiesta, and is the co-chair for the Graduation Committee. Her previous volunteer experience includes grammar school Volunteer Coordinator, Girl Scout Leader and Orinda Academy’s Parent’s Club Secretary. She has also worked as a Social Worker and Human Resource Manager. She currently lives in Orinda with her Husband Eric and her kids P.J. and Olivia.
Michelle is entering her 4th year as an Orion parent. She served one year as the 8th grade parent representative on the PTO Board, one year as both interim President and then Co-Vice-President, was the Chair for the Building Hope Campaign for two years, has chaired the Web-Based Fundraising Committee for three years, and has served as a volunteer for Fall Fiesta, Auction, Social and Graduation Committees. Her daughter, Julia, is a junior. Her background is as a teacher, technology specialist and administrator.

PTO will be offering Safeway Gift Cards for sale at Community Meetings and the General PTO Meeting. By using your Safeway card and using a Safeway Gift Card (debit card or cash), Orion PTO still earns. But, we DON’T EARN if you pay with a credit card at the store.
